The Strathmore Stampede isn’t just for the pros! it’s packed with excitement for the next generation of cowboys and cowgirls too. Our Kids Events bring big rodeo action in a fun, safe, and unforgettable way, featuring fan favourites like Wild Pony Races, Mutton’ Busting, and Running with the Rams.
Running with the Rams
Registration Form:

Please complete the registration form for the child you’d like to participate. You may choose your preferred day, but registration is first come, first served.

This event takes place around 11:30 a.m. (NOT during the Rodeo or Chuckwagons) at the Running with the Rams arena in Heritage Towne on the general grounds on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Please complete the form below to register. If any aspects of the form are not filled out completely/accurately, you will not be considered.
Eligibility:

The child must be between the ages of 5 and 7 at the time of the event.

For safety reasons, children outside this age range will be deregistered.

The Strathmore & District Agricultural Society may request a birth certificate or passport to verify age if necessary.
Payment:

After submitting your form, you will receive an invoice via Square. Please complete payment through the invoice. No EFTs unless previously discussed with the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society. Payment must be made on time, or it will result in deregistration.
Event Details:

Approximately one month prior to the event, you will receive an email with details about where to meet, event timing, and what to bring.

Only one parent will be granted free access to the grounds with the participant.

Friday is Family Friday, with free general admission for all, but Saturday and Sunday will require general admission tickets for others. If you have already purchased Rodeo or Chuckwagon tickets, your general admission is included, so please scan in upon arrival.
Important Notes:

Children who are crying or hesitant to get into the arena with the sheep will not be allowed to participate for the safety of both your child as well as the sheep.

No refunds, rainchecks, or exchanges. If you are unable to participate after completing registration, please let our office know so we can give your spot to the next child eager to participate.
Mutton Bustin'
Eligibility Requirements:

Child must be ages 4 to 6 by July 31st, 2026.

Child must weigh 65 lbs or less for safety reasons.

If the child does not meet these criteria, they will be deregistered.

The Strathmore & District Agricultural Society reserves the right to ask for a copy of the birth certificate or passport of the child at any point.
Event Details:

The Mutton Bustin’ event takes place before the Chuckwagon races on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
-
Children may only participate on one day of the event (based on a first-come, first-served basis for your preferred date).

Only one parent can accompany the child during the event. Other family members or friends must purchase a ticket to the Chuckwagons to watch the event.
Registration Process:

Complete the registration form below for your child.

After submission, you’ll receive confirmation from the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society as soon as possible.

You will receive an invoice via Square. Payments must be completed through this invoice (no EFTs unless pre-arranged).

Failure to make payment on time will result in deregistration.
Event Logistics:

Approximately one month prior to the event, you will receive an email with more details about the event’s location, timing, and what to bring. All contestants must wear safety-approved helmets, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt. Helmets and safety gear will not be provided by the Strathmore Stampede.

Any child who is visibly upset or reluctant to get on a sheep will not be allowed to participate in this event for the safety of both the child and the sheep.

There are NO Refunds, rainchecks, or exchanges. If your child is unable to attend, please contact the office and let us know so we can give the spot to another child.
Wild Pony Race
Team Registration:

Please complete the form to register your team. You must have your full team of 3 members ready before registering. Wild Pony Racing teams participate on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the Strathmore Stampede. The Wild Pony Races take place at the end of the Rodeo after the Bull Riding.
Eligibility:

Each child must be between the ages of 8 and 12 at the time of the event.

For the safety of both your child and the animals, children outside this age range will be deregistered.

The Strathmore & District Agricultural Society may request a birth certificate or passport for age verification if necessary.
Payment:

After submitting the registration form, you will receive an invoice via Square. Payment must be completed through the invoice. No EFTs unless pre-arranged with the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society. Payment must be made on time, or it will result in deregistration.

There are NO refunds, rainchecks or exchanges. If your team is unable to patriciate, please let our office no so we can give another eager team to have a spot.
